Juan Honore Fragonard, The Swing

Fragonard lived in the 1700’s. His style is called Rococo – full of exuberant detail. For over 50 years his work was so completely ignored that a 1873 history of art doesn’t even mention his name. Now though he is considered one of France’s greatest artists. The Swing is one of his most famous paintings. In 2013 one of his paintings sold for $28,000,000 US.
